When the beautiful Tessa and her sweet Mama first came to meet us, she described her vision as “simple” and “elegant”. While 100 % delivered on the elegant, the simple part... We'll let you be the judge of that!! In the words of Tessa, “They took my idea of “something simple” and created a dream that I didn’t even know I wanted.” Tessa and Tyler's wedding at Boxwood Manor in Hoston was truly stunning! The black and white accents exuded sophistication while the touches of green added a richness and depth to the design.
Tessa's bridesmaids' wore stunning hunter green velvet dresses, while the "bridesman" rocked a matching hunter green suit.
As guests entered the chapel, they were greeted with lush floral arrangements and an aisle filled with white rose petals and candles. On the altar a large white wooden cross surrounded by concrete pedestals with stunning white floral arrangements on top of course created by our own fabulous floral team here at Whimsical Creative!! While the concrete pedestals added some contrast and texture to an otherwise all white space, the venue's many beautiful windows allowed the natural light in casting beautiful shadows adding to the romantic atmosphere and feel of the day. Tessa as we knew she would choose the classic and one of our all-time favourites "here comes the bride" to walked down the aisle with!! you can't get more simple and classic than that, can you??
After the ceremony, guests made their way to cocktail hour in Boxwood Manor's gorgeous courtyard. The Strings continued to play and guests got to some enjoy custom cocktails. The welcome table set the tone with a black lined table showcasing a floral arrangement, adorable photos of the couple, and a guest book ready for some love-filled notes and advice for the newlyweds.
Spicing up the cocktail hour, the couple add marquee letters and a mix of high and low cocktail tables for guests outside. The bubbles and brews wall, designed by LeLe Lines, stole the show, and the assortment of hors d'oeuvres served by Cafe Natalie accompanied by custom cocktail napkins, showing off two adorable four-legged family members ensured guests were well looked after!
As guests made their way into the reception space, they were asked to find their seats on a custom seating chart... Lele Lines strikes again! As a nod to how Tessa and Tyler met, we used the phrase “From Hinge to Hitched” at the top with guests' names listed in alphabetical order all backed with lux velvet paper in the same shade of hunter green. Can you tell we love velvet yet?
Go big or go home was our motto on the head table. Picture a long mirrored table with candles, on candles on candles creating the most amazing glow. Elevated florals went all the way down the table and more candles hung from that. A black matte charger paired with (you guessed it!) a velvet green napkin completed the look! Have you noticed a theme here yet? Romantic? Absolutely!
The guest tables featured a mix of rounds and rectangles creating lots of visual interest in the space. Black satin linens where mixed with emerald velvet and each table featured an abundance of candles (we are all about that ambient lighting) and gorgeous florals.
The couple took the cake game to the next level featuring not just a classic white tiered cake but also a custom barrel cake. Complete with mini Maker's Mark Whisky bottles, the grooms favorite whiskey. With cakes that this, we have to make a feature out of them! Picture uplights on the trees, candles everywhere, and a romantic glow that said, "Eat cake, dance, repeat!"
The dance floor was a statement all on its own with a custom logo making an appearance on our all white dance floor, cozy lounge furniture allowed guests to take relax but still be in the action! Perhaps our favorite touch was the elaborate floral runner in the back of the already lux black velvet couches!
Tessa and Tyler's wedding at Boxwood Manor was the perfect blend of sophistication and laid-back vibes. Their love story unfolded amidst laughter, killer dance moves, and memories that will be cherished for years to come. And to top it all off, they made their exit in style with a getaway car
